Iran: Limited number of ships to be allowed passage through Strait of Hormuz each day

A senior Iranian military source said Tuesday that only a limited number of vessels will be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz each day under a coordinated arrangement with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy.

In a statement to “Fars News Agency”, the source stated the number of permits issued to pass through the Strait of Hormuz will change daily, depending on the situation and circumstances.

The agency noted that the Strait of Hormuz has been closed in recent days following the Israeli hostilities in Lebanon and a US breach of ceasefire commitments.

According to the report, no permits were issued for vessels to transit the strategic waterway during that period.
