The Palestinian Media Forum condemned the killing of journalist Ahmed Washah, a cameraman for Al Jazeera, describing the targeting journalists and media workers constitutes a full-fledged crime and a flagrant violation of international law .
The Forum said the death of Washah brings the number of journalists killed in Gaza since the start of Israel’s military campaign on Oct. 7, 2023, to 263, describing it as one of the deadliest periods for media workers in modern history.
The forum noted that Washah was killed nearly two months after the death of his brother, journalist Mohammed Washah, who was also killed in an Israeli strike.
Holding “Israel” fully responsible for the incident, the forum called on international organizations, human rights groups and global media bodies to take urgent action to protect journalists and ensure accountability for attacks against media personnel.
