Parliament speaker inspects under-construction new Parliament building

Yemeni Parliament Speaker Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i affirmed today that the new Parliament building project was designed in line with the highest standards and the most advanced technical, engineering, and architectural designs.

During a visit to the new Parliament building under construction in the capital, Sana’a, accompanied by several members of Parliament, Al-Ra’i described the project as one of Yemen’s most significant national achievements and a symbol of its aspirations for the future.

He praised the progress made in the first phase of the project, highlighting its importance in meeting the current requirements of the legislature through facilities and annexes capable of accommodating parliamentary bodies, permanent committees, the main chamber, and meeting halls.

Al-Ra’i described the building as an achievement that every Yemeni could take pride in, noting that efforts are underway to secure the support and funding needed to complete the remaining phases of the project.

The parliament speaker added that the building would incorporate the latest technological and architectural innovations, reflecting lawmakers’ commitment to modernization, digital transformation, and institutional advancement.

He said the project would serve as a bridge toward completing the foundations of a modern Yemeni state.
