Yemen’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abdulwahid Abu Ras said the Republic of Yemen is closely monitoring “Israeli activities” linked to the Zionist collaborator, Abdulrahman Iro, who is seeking to turn Hargeisa, Berbera, and other Somali areas into an international operations hub run by the Zionist enemy entity, at the expense of the Somali people.
In remarks to the Yemeni news agency Saba, Abu Ras aid the Somali people would be the biggest losers, adding that Israeli activities in Somalia aim to undermine the country’s unity and sovereignty and transform its territory into a stage for regional and international conflicts.
He warned of “serious consequences” for peace and security not only in Somalia but across the entire region.
Abu Ras stressed that such conspiracies must not be allowed to proceed, saying the only beneficiary would be what he described as the “Israeli enemy,” which he accused of seeking to entrench its presence in the heart of the Horn of Africa at the expense of the Somali people’s lives, interests, and resources.
Abu Ras said the Israeli project poses a threat not only to Somalia but also to the national security of the entire region, warning that it could drag the region into a major conflict, with unpredictable consequences.
He called on all Somali parties not to be deceived by false promises and to remain fully vigilant and aware of the dangers of the Zionist presence.
Abu Ras urged the countries of the region to grasp the true nature of the expansionist Zionist project, which does not target any one party but is rather a ticking time bomb that will explode in everyone’s face.
The Deputy Foreign Minister stated that remaining silent about Zionist activities will come at a heavy price, emphasizing that the security of Yemen and the region is a red line.
He reaffirmed that Yemen has the will and capability to protect its strategic security and is ready to contribute to regional stability and the safety of its peoples.
