Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei accused the United States on Wednesday of deliberately targeting Iran’s vital water infrastructure, calling it a war crime and a violation of international law.
In a post on “X,” he said U.S. forces destroyed two water reservoirs in Sirik, Hormozgan, affecting water supply to over 20,000 people in ten villages.
He stressed the attack was not collateral damage but a “deliberate crime,” and called for accountability.
Baghaei also referred to a recent 40-day U.S. and Israeli aggression against Iran, saying it hit civilian infrastructure, and noted Iran’s retaliatory “True Promise 4” operation against Israeli and U.S. targets in the region.
