The official spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baghaei, mocked this evening, Wednesday, the mission of the American aircraft carrier “USS Abraham Lincoln” and American policy.
Baghaei said in two posts on the “X” platform, monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba): “America sent the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier to the region to project its influence. After months of war—and more than 200 days without stopping at any port—it is now heading to Thailand for its crew to rest and relax.”
He added: “The mission: power projection. The current mission: vacation project. ‘I’m tired, Mr. President.'”
Baghaei also commented on American foreign policy, saying: “Washington heads to Bahrain—a country with which Iran has no significant economic relations—to prove the success of its ‘alliance.’ Then it ‘suspends’ Iranian sports and academic exchanges, which were already effectively halted for years.”
He continued: “It imposes sanctions on those already subject to sanctions, and describes the vacuum it leaves behind as an ‘alliance.'”
