Israeli occupation forces intensify attacks across southern Lebanon

Israeli occupation forces intensified their attacks on southern Lebanon on Wednesday, carrying out artillery and airstrikes, detonations, and house burnings in several towns, while drones flew at low altitude over Beirut’s southern suburbs, Lebanese media reported.

Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that “hostile drones are flying at low altitude over the southern suburbs.”

In southern Lebanon, the agency reported that an Israeli explosive-laden drone detonated over the town of Mansouri, south of the city of Tyre, while a Merkava tank shelled the town several times.

It added that Israeli forces burned homes in the town of Beit al-Siyad and carried out a demolition operation in Majdal Zoun, also in the Tyre district.

In the Bint Jbeil district, the agency said the Israeli occupation army carried out explosions on the outskirts of Srobbine, alongside a search operation in the town.

The outskirts of Hadatha also came under intermittent Israeli artillery fire at dawn, according to the same source.

In the Marjayoun district, the agency reported that Israeli aircraft carried out a nighttime airstrike on the town of Qantara.

The developments are part of an ongoing Israeli escalation against villages and towns in southern Lebanon, amid the continued occupation of Lebanese areas and incursions that have extended more than 10 kilometers into Lebanese territory during the current aggression.

The attacks come despite Lebanon and “Israel” signing, under US mediation on June 26, an agreement providing for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from all Lebanese territory in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army and the disarmament of armed groups.

Since March 2, 2026, “Israel” has been waging an offensive against Lebanon that has killed 4,350 people and injured 12,307 others, in addition to displacing more than one million people, according to Lebanese authorities.

“Israel” continues to occupy areas in southern Lebanon, some of them for decades and others since the war that took place between 2023 and 2024, while its current offensive has expanded its presence deeper into Lebanese territory.
