Yemen’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abdul-Wahid Abu Ras praised on Saturday Russia’s balanced positions at the United Nations Security Council on the Yemen file and other regional issues.
He made the remarks during a video conference with Russian Ambassador to Yemen Yevgeny Kudrov, during which they discussed the latest developments on the Yemeni scene.
Abu Ras said the recent operations by the Yemeni armed forces were aimed at restoring the situation to normal and had achieved their objectives, stressing that the situation is stable.
The deputy foreign minister added that the Saudi regime is seeking to intimidate and mislead the international community about developments in Yemen, clarifying that Sanaa’s commitment to ensuring the safety of international navigation.
He also renewed Sanaa’s commitment to achieving a just, honorable and sustainable peace for the Yemeni people, one that meets their aspirations and brings an end to their suffering.
For his part, the Russian ambassador affirmed his country’s support for efforts aimed at de-escalation, achieving peace in Yemen and alleviating the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people.
