Yemen’s Ministry of Transport and Public Works reported that 785 commercial vessels passed through the Bab al-Mandab Strait between October 1 and 22, affirming that international maritime traffic continues smoothly in both directions.
According to the ministry’s latest statistics, 399 vessels sailed northbound and 386 southbound, averaging approximately 35 vessels per day.
The ministry said commercial shipping continued without interruption during the reporting period, except for vessels belonging to the Saudi enemy.
The ministry dismissed Saudi enemy claims that maritime navigation through the strategic strait had been halted, saying the figures demonstrate the continued flow of international shipping.
It stressed that Riyadh is seeking to mobilize international support for expanding its aggression and blockade against Yemen.
The ministry reiterated its commitment to the safety and security of international maritime navigation through Bab al-Mandab and the uninterrupted movement of commercial vessels in both directions, excluding Saudi enemy vessels.
