Samir Zaqout, Deputy Director of the Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights, affirmed that Israeli forces continue to commit genocide in the Gaza Strip through ongoing killings, destruction, and the blockade, in addition to violating declared agreements and the rules of international humanitarian law and international human rights law.
In a press statement to the Palestinian news agency Shihab on Sunday, Zaqout explained that these practices represent a direct challenge to the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice, which affirmed the illegality of the occupation and the necessity of ending it immediately. He called on the international community to take practical measures to stop it and end its effects.
