The Legal Center for Rights and Development (LCRD) strongly condemned the heinous crime committed by the warplanes of aggression against fishermen in Hodeida province, which left 9 fishermen dead and 10 other injured.

In a statement received by Saba, the LCRD said that “the targeting of a gathering for fishermen is apparent violation of international humanitarian law, which prohibits the targeting of fishermen, ships and boats belonging to civilians.

“The purely civilian nature of the crime scene and the number of victims confirmed that the Saudi Arabian coalition forces continued deliberately to violate the basic principles and rules of international humanitarian law, considering this crime as a war crime against humanity,” the statement added

The statement indicated that this crime was not the first for fishermen, as the legal center documented the facts of the bombing and targeting of more than 254 fishing boats, which left at least 797 fishermen among dead and wounded.

The Saudi regime and its alliance held responsible for the crimes and its predecessors, demanding the investigation and criminal accountability of the leaders of the coalition and all those found guilty of such crimes, the statement said

The center called the United Nations to bear its responsibility toward what is happening against Yemeni civilians, stressing on the need to stop the war as soon as possible.
