Dozens were killed and injured when infighting erupted on Saturday in Taiz city between several factions of the coalition-backed mercenaries, sources reported.

The clashes broke out between the Abu al-Abbas group, an al-Qaeda affiliated organisation backed by the United Arab Emirates, and Islah Party Muslim Brotherhood mercenaries that are backed by Saudi Arabia in the areas of Akabat Mufarih and Madam valley.

The infighting erupted following the killing of a woman and a member of the Muslim Brotherhood in a sniper attack by the Abu al-Abbas terrorist organisation.

Explosions and clashes lasted for hours across the old city of Taiz, according to its residents.
