Hundreds of civilian and military demonstrators gathered in Aden, southern Yemen, demanding Hadi’s departure.

Al-Mayadeen reporter said that protesters stormed Al-Maasheeq Palace and left hours later.

The area witnessed a security and military alert for the Presidential Protection Forces in the Palace in Aden, and gunfire was heard after the protesters approached the main gates of the palace.

The demonstrators demanded the payment of salaries of the military and the improvement of basic services such as electricity and health.

Likewise, security forces of the Southern Transitional Council, backed by the UAE, closed the main highway in the city of Al-Dhalea, demanding paying their salaries.

This comes after southern Yemen has witnessed, in recent weeks, popular demonstrations in Aden and Mukalla to protest against the deteriorating living conditions.

During the protests, the demonstrators raised slogans against the government of President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, the Transitional Council and the Saudi-Emirati coalition, and held the coalition responsible for the collapse of economic conditions, calling for his departure from Yemen.
