Prime Minister, Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor on Monday met with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eng. Hisham Sharaf, who presented the report on the developments of the political and diplomatic situation at the regional and international levels during August 2021.

The report included the communication of Foreign Minister and the Foreign Ministry with a number of Foreign ministers and ambassadors of the 19 countries sponsoring the peace process and political settlement in Yemen.

Minister of Foreign Affairs presented a number of Sana’a addresses to a number of brotherly and friendly countries, which dealt with the continuation of the oppression of the Yemeni people and the coalition’s practice in the policy of massive punishment against Yemenis, with the aggression coalition and its mercenaries and its corruption network in order to prevent the entry of ships of oil derivatives and domestic gas to the port of Hodeidah.

Foreign Minister reviewed the discriminatory and racist treatment practiced against citizens of the Republic of Yemen who hold Yemeni passports, during their travel or temporary transit in a number of brotherly and friendly countries, by preventing them from obtaining entry or temporary transit visas, despite their fulfilling
the financial and administrative conditions like other nationals of countries.

He explained that this treatment is a clear violation of international humanitarian law, human rights and United Nations resolutions to guarantee freedom of movement within the conditions imposed on citizens of all countries, and comes under flimsy justifications that the holder of the Yemeni passport is either a refugee or his movements are suspected, due to the aggression against Yemen.

Foreign Minister Sharaf indicated that the Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs will coordinate with other relevant Yemeni ministries to monitor such inhumane treatment, and the obstacles that are based on political and racist justifications against Yemenis in particular, encouraged by the countries of the coalition of aggression, by opening an international website 24/7 to receive any complaints related to this aspect .

He indicated that the ministry will submit a draft decision to the Chairman of the Supreme Political Council, His Excellency , Mahdi Al-Mashat, and to the presidency of the government to apply the principle of reciprocity to the citizens of those countries, and those who hold their passports of various degrees during this period, even after the start of the political settlement steps, and peace in Yemen.

Minister Sharaf indicated that he had sent written appeals to all brotherly and friendly countries to take into account the situation of Yemeni citizens, and to apply similar conditions for their dealings with other nationalities, by accepting the availability of round trip tickets, booking in any hotel, and paying the citizen the costs of his going to the concerned country, to fulfill his purpose from Travel, and guarantee his return after the end of the visit.

Prime Minister highly appreciated the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in political and diplomatic follow-up, and in concerning of the rights and conditions of Yemenis abroad.
