Emirati-backed Transitional Council insulted the sheikhs and notables of Abyan Governorate, in southern Yemen, with a stance that revealed its distrust and fear of them.
The transitional forces stripped the sheikhs of Abyan of their weapons, including Janabih, during the consultative meeting organized by the council in the city of Zanzibar, the center of the governorate, to gain tribal and community support for its military operation, “Arrows of the East”, especially after the escalation of attacks on its forces, which resulted in the death and injury of dozens of them.
Despite the arrival of the transitional president, Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, to Zanzibar to attend the meeting with a convoy of 20 armored vehicles and 15 armed crews, fear and terror prevailed.
