Government media office in Gaza said on Tuesday evening that “the (Israeli) occupation has bombed the Gaza Strip with more than 12,000 tons of explosives” since October 7.
The office continued, in a statement, that the effect of these explosives “is equal to the power of the (atomic) bomb that was dropped on (the Japanese city of) Hiroshima.
” The United States dropped atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 8 and 9, 1945, during World War II (1939-1945).
The bombs contained enriched uranium, and had the effect of exploding 13,000 tons of TNT.
The government media office in Gaza added that “33 tons of explosives were dropped on every square kilometer on average in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the aggression.
“ The area of Gaza is about 365 square kilometers, and about 2.3 million Palestinians live in the Strip, and they suffer from extremely deteriorating living conditions.
As a result of an ongoing Israeli siege since the Hamas movement won the legislative elections in 2006.
Since October 7, the Israeli army has launched intense air strikes on Gaza, leaving more than 20,000 dead and wounded and an unspecified number of people missing under the rubble.
