A series of explosions on Wednesday rocked the oil fields in Marib, the last stronghold of the factions loyal to the coalition in northern Yemen.

Tribal sources reported that several shells fell inside Safer fields.

The oil fields were targeted with the escalation of confrontations between tribes and armed factions there due to the decision to raise fuel prices.

Tribal sources reported that dozens of people were killed and wounded as a result of the confrontations that the Marib tribes have been waging since Tuesday evening, taking place on the international line.

The outbreak of confrontations came after the tribes refused to allow fuel locomotives to pass in protest against the Maeen government’s decision to raise fuel prices from 3,500 riyals for gasoline to 9,750 riyals per 20-liter gallon.
