Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced on Wednesday that Malaysia will prevent the Israeli Shipping Company (ZIM) from docking in any of its ports.

Ibrahim said in a statement, “This decision is a response to Israel’s actions that violate basic humanitarian principles and international laws.”

He pointed out that in 2002, the Council of Ministers allowed ships owned by this company to dock in Malaysia, and in 2005, the Council of Ministers at that time granted permission for the ship to dock in Malaysia, but the current government decided to cancel all previous Cabinet decisions.

The Malaysian Prime Minister stressed that his country is “confident that these decisions will not negatively affect Malaysia’s commercial activities.

Zim is an Israeli international shipping company listed on the stock exchange and one of the top 20 global shipping companies.
