President Mahdi Al-Mashat has extended condolences on the martyrdom of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi, and the accompanying delegation following the helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan Province, northwest Iran.
“With feelings of faith, acceptance, and submission to the Almighty, we extend our sincere condolences to the Islamic Republic of Iran and its wise leadership represented by Sayyed Ali Khamenei and the great Iranian people, on the painful loss of Sayyed Ibrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic, and his companions in the helicopter accident,” President Al-Mashat expressed.
He affirmed standing by the Islamic Republic of Iran and full confidence in its ability to endure and overcome difficulties.
“The martyr, Sayyed Ibrahim Raeisi, was an example of a courageous Muslim leader, faithful to the nation’s causes, keen on achieving its aspirations for dignity, honor, progress, and development. His positions on national issues were clear, strong, and brave, especially his support for the Palestinian people and their just cause. He also sought to reunite the nation, unify its stances, and bridge gaps among its members,” he added.
President Al-Mashat pointed out that the martyr, Sayyed Ibrahim Raisi, represented his people effectively in international and regional forums, standing firmly against American and Israeli arrogance towards the nation’s peoples. He emphasized that the departure of Sayyed Raeisi is a significant loss for all the peoples of the Islamic nation.
Raeisi died alongside his accompanying delegation, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, after their chopper crashed in the Dizmar forest in East Azerbaijan Province on Sunday.
Following an hours-long search hampered by poor weather conditions, rescuers found the burnt-out wreckage of the helicopter, and its passengers were confirmed dead.
