The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sana’a government, Jamal Ahmed Amer, received on Sunday the credentials of Mr. Jurg Montani as the new representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Yemen.

During his meeting with Montani, Amer confirmed that the ICRC delegation would receive all forms of cooperation and facilities from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, as well as the rest of the active organizations, to ensure the success of its tasks in accordance with the approved rules.

He urged the ICRC delegation to double efforts in providing urgent and emergency humanitarian aid, especially to the provinces affected by floods, including Hodeida, Hajjah, Mahweet, and Dhamar.

In turn, Montani confirmed his openness to cooperate with the government to serve the Yemeni citizen, noting that the ICRC is a neutral organization and does not respond to any external pressure.
