13 Tons of expired food destroyed in Sa’ada

Economy, Industry and Investment Office in Sa’ada Governorate destroyed 13 tons of expired food items.

During the destruction, in the presence of the Governorate’s Undersecretary for Environmental and Improvement Affairs, Mohammed Al-Badani, and the Deputy Prosecutor for Violations, Judge Hussein Ghouth, the Director of the Economy Office in the Governorate, Khaled Al-Dhaiban, explained that the goods that were destroyed included various food and consumer goods.

He pointed out that the total violations that were detected until the end of September 2024 amounted to 591 violations, distributed among failure to advertise, raising prices, expiration, lack of scales, shortage in the weight of bread and packages, refusal to inspect, poor storage, commercial fraud, and violations of technical and health requirements.

Al-Dhaiban appreciated the efforts of the local authority leadership in facilitating the work of the office and completing its tasks in monitoring goods and markets and controlling violations.
