180 Prisoners Released On The Occasion Of The Holy Month Of Ramadan

Public Prosecution Office in Amran Governorate released 180 prisoners who met the legal conditions for release, on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, in a step that reflects the humanitarian and social dimension of this occasion.

The release process took place in the presence of the Deputy Criminal Prosecutor in the Governorate, Judge Hussein Al-Rouni, the Deputy Governor Hassan Al-Ashqas, and a number of officials.

The Governor of Amran stressed the importance of this initiative, which comes in response to the directives of the Leader of the Revolution, and aims to inspect the conditions of prisoners and release those who have served three-quarters of their sentence, or whose sentence has ended and are still being held on the basis of private rights.

He pointed out that the Judicial Committee continues to review the conditions of prisoners to ensure the correction of the course of justice, calling on businessmen and philanthropists to contribute to helping debtors and enabling them to pay their debts, which will alleviate their suffering and facilitate their release.

For his part, the head of the governorate’s appeal prosecution, Judge Hadi Ayda, explained that the released prisoners belong to the central correctional facility, the pretrial prison, and the governorate’s detention centers, and all of them met the legal conditions, noting that the release included those who obtained guarantees, and those who served three-quarters of their sentence, in addition to those who were guaranteed by the Zakat Authority and philanthropists to pay their financial dues, after verifying their good conduct and behavior.

Judge Hadi appreciated the efforts of the Zakat Authority in providing financial assistance to those released, ensuring their easy and smooth return to their families, stressing the importance of continuing community cooperation to support those insolvent who are unable to pay their debts.

The release ceremony was attended by the Director General of the Zakat Authority branch in the governorate, Mohammed Al-Shahrani, the Deputy Director of the Governorate Security, Brigadier General Lutfi Anash, the Director of Criminal Investigation, Colonel Awad Al-Tabib, the Director of Intelligence, Colonel Nayef Al-Wari, and Colonel Abbas Al-Hawri, in addition to a number of officials.
