FM Meets With Former Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Jamal Amer, met on Thursday in Sana’a with former Prime Minister of the sisterly Republic of Iraq, Adel Abdul Mahdi, who is currently visiting Yemen to attend the third conference titled “Palestine: The Central Issue of the Nation.”

During the meeting, Minister Amer welcomed the former Iraqi Prime Minister to his “second home,” Yemen, emphasizing the depth of fraternal Yemeni-Iraqi relations at both official and popular levels.

He highlighted the significance of Abdul Mahdi’s participation in the Palestine Conference, which reflects the stance of Yemen’s leadership, government, and people regarding the injustice faced by the Palestinian people.

Minister Amer noted that the position of the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, represents the highest level of this approach, as he has adopted the option of direct military confrontation with what he described as the “terrorist states of America and Israel,” a stance supported by the Yemeni people.

For his part, the former Iraqi Prime Minister expressed his great pleasure at visiting Yemen, praising the international example set by its people under the leadership of Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.

He commended their courage, principles, and sense of responsibility toward the suffering of the people of Gaza, as demonstrated by their support for those defending their land, honor, and religion.

The third conference, “Palestine: The Central Issue of the Nation,” is scheduled to take place from the 22nd to the 25th of Ramadan in the capital, Sana’a.
