Yemeni national unity is a great national entitlement and achievement that must always be valued, protected, and strengthened on proper foundations, according to the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi.
In his fourth lecture of the month of Dhul Hijjah 1447 AH, Sayyed Abdul-Malik extended warmest congratulations to the dear Yemeni Muslim people on the 36th anniversary of Yemeni Unity Day.
Two Principal Threats to Unity
The leader noted that developments since the establishment of unity have proven that the greatest threats to this important achievement are two factors: personal, partisan, and factional ambitions and calculations at the internal level, and subservience to external forces that seek complete control over the Yemeni people, confiscation of their freedom and independence, and exploitation of the country’s geographic location and wealth.
He emphasized that “the unifying faith-based identity is the primary foundation that preserves brotherhood, unity, and cooperation in righteousness and piety, and protects the people from other divisive factors that others work to promote.”
Saudi Ambitions and American Supervision
Sayyed Abdul-Malik stated that “the Saudi regime, with complete clarity and frankness, has as its primary orientation to keep the Yemeni people subjugated to it, under its command and prohibition, under American supervision.” He explained that “forces that have subordinated themselves to the enemy and components subject to it have squandered the people’s freedom and betrayed them in every sense of the word.”
He noted that these forces “move under banners that stir sectarian and regionalist bigotry, working on every cause of division, disagreement, conflict, and stirring enmity, hatred, and animosity among the people.”
The Liberation Approach as Safeguard
The leader pointed out that “the factor that preserves unity among the people is the liberation approach that maintains this country’s independence and truly helps achieve a genuine renaissance for our country and people.”
Regarding Saudi-led efforts to manage Yemeni affairs, Sayyed Abdulmalik affirmed that “our people will never accept being just one file among the files of the special Saudi committee, managed according to external calculations, bets, and interests, under the supervision of a quadripartite committee composed of the American, British, Israeli, and Saudi regimes.”
He continued: “This poses a great threat to this country in everything—its freedom, its independence, its present, and its future. Our people can never submit to that or mortgage their destiny on this basis.”
Faith Identity as Source of Steadfastness
The leader emphasized that “our dear people, with their faith-based identity, cling to their freedom, remain steadfast on their liberation approach, and regardless of the difficulties, challenges, and suffering resulting from this external American-Israeli onslaught—through its regional tools and the traitors among the country’s sons who are pygmies, who can never comprehend that our people be free, nor do they believe in that at all, knowing only subservience to external forces to achieve their trivial gains and ambitions.”
Enemy Schemes Destined for Failure
Sayyed Abdul-Malik considered that “enemy efforts aimed at subjugating this people and controlling this country, using every divisive banner—sectarian bigotry, takfiri distortion, regionalist slogans—to stir animosity and hatred among the people, though they have had negative results and caused suffering at certain stages, are destined, by God’s will, for failure and eventual demise.”
