Russian Air Defenses Down Nine Ukrainian UAVs Overnight Over Five Regions

Air defense forces shot down nine Ukrainian drones over Russian regions overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

“Over the past night, air defense forces on duty intercepted and destroyed nine Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs): three over the Samara Region, two each over the Voronezh and Oryol Regions, and one each over the Belgorod and Kursk Regions,” the ministry specified.

According to Samara Region Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, three UAVs targeting industrial plants in Novokuibyshevsk were downed. “The attacks have caused no fires or damage, everything is operating normally,” the official wrote on VKontakte.

The Ukrainian military frequently targets Russian border areas in Crimea, as well as the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, and Voronezh regions with drones and missiles.

At the same time, Russian forces persist with their special military operation, which aims to disarm Ukraine, neutralize threats to Russia’s security, and safeguard civilians in the Donbas region.
