Syrian MP Asaad al-Bazouni strongly criticized on Wednesday the crimes committed by armed gangs affiliated with al-Julani, considering the targeting of Alawites in Syria to be completely unacceptable and the beginning of a dangerous sectarian war that threatens the stability of the region.
In a statement, al-Bazouni said that “al-Jolani’s government is a terrorist par excellence,” noting that “in just three months of its rule, it has committed numerous massacres and violations against civilians.”
He explained that “targeting Alawites in Syria is completely unacceptable,” noting that it “is the beginning of a dangerous sectarian war that threatens the stability of the region.”
Al-Bazouni expressed his “astonishment at the ruling authorities’ disregard for the situation in Mount Hermon and other Syrian villages,” saying that “the Zionist entity is imposing its control over them without any real response.”
He added that “the al-Julani government came to divide Syria, not to govern it,” warning that “this escalating situation could destabilize the entire region.”
Concluding his statement, he called on “the Security Council and the United Nations to urgently intervene to control the situation before its impact extends to neighboring countries and threatens regional security.”
It is worth noting that the Alawite sect has been subjected to genocidal killings and displacement for days, targeting most cities and villages on the Syrian coast.
