Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi, along with his First Deputy Mohammed Muftah, inspected the final preparations at Sana’a International Airport ahead of the resumption of civil flights starting Wednesday.
The officials reviewed the work completed by technical and engineering teams to restore the departure, arrival, and VIP halls, the main runway, and the aircraft apron—after the airport was targeted by Israeli strikes—and inspected aircraft damaged in the attack.
The Prime Minister confirmed the airport is now fully operational and meets international safety and security standards.
He praised the efforts of the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Authority, and engineering teams for the rapid restoration.
Al-Rahwi reaffirmed Yemen’s unwavering support for Gaza, vowing that external aggression will not deter Yemen from its moral and religious stance.
For his part, Deputy PM Muftah expressed hopes to resume flights to Amman, Jordan, and begin Hajj pilgrim departures through Sana’a Airport.
For his part, the Minister of Transport and Public Works considered the visit of the Prime Minister and his deputy to Sana’a Airport as an official announcement of the airport’s reopening after its restoration and readiness to receive flights.
He thanked staff from the Civil Aviation Authority, engineers, the Roads Authority, and Sana’a Airport for their efforts in restoring and preparing the airport.
He confirmed that the first flight will arrive tomorrow.
Quhim stated that this rapid achievement reflects the government’s commitment to real change and reconstruction in both word and deed.
