Sana’a International Airport’s restoration work continues at a rapid pace around the clock.
The airport administration announced that the technical team has completed the runway repairs according to approved technical specifications.
The administration explained that only the paving and cleaning of the work area remain, in preparation for the project’s full completion.
Airport Director Khaled Al-Shaif explained that the technical team was able to repair the damage to the runway according to technical specifications, and that all that remains is the paving and cleaning of the work area.
Al-Shaif confirmed that the technical teams began their work from the first moment of the attack, and that two teams are working around the clock: one to repair and rehabilitate the terminals, and the other to maintain the runway.
Sana’a International Airport is expected to resume operations within a week, with alternative arrangements being made to receive passengers if the airport terminals require more time to be rehabilitated.
Last week, Sana’a Airport was subjected to a brutal and direct Israeli attack that targeted its infrastructure with more than fifteen missiles.
The missiles struck the arrival and departure halls, the administrative offices, the waiting rooms, and the first-class lounge, completely destroying them, including their equipment, including baggage conveyor belts, inspection devices, computer and ticketing systems, and communications and surveillance equipment.
