WHO Official: Gaza Children Are Dying Of Hunger

World Health Organization’s Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, Hanan Balkhy, said on Saturday that children in Gaza are dying from hunger and famine, which have reached extremely high levels due to the stifling Israeli blockade.

According to the Sanad News Agency, Balkhy pointed out that deaths are occurring among adults and children due to lack of food and medicine, and that vital health infrastructure in the Strip has been completely destroyed.

She emphasized that people are living in an extremely difficult health environment, and that although hygiene is the foundation of health, it is absent in Gaza.

She added, “The health care systems are also collapsing, with only a few hospitals providing partial or limited services. There is a real shortage of resources.”

For the 603rd consecutive day, the enemy forces continue their relentless war and military aggression on the Gaza Strip, coinciding with the blockade and the perpetration of horrific massacres and war crimes against civilians and displaced persons in various areas of the besieged Strip.
