Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced on Tuesday the suspension of the defense cooperation agreement between Italy and “Israel”, which includes the exchange of military equipment and cooperation in technology research.
Speaking on the sidelines of an event in Verona, Meloni said, according to the Italian news agency ANSA: “Given the current situation, the government has decided to suspend the automatic renewal of the defense agreement with Israel.”
She did not provide further details regarding the duration of the suspension or possible next steps related to the agreement.
