Macron denies France sending warships to Strait of Hormuz

French President Emmanuel Macron affirmed on Sunday that his country never considered sending warships to the Strait of Hormuz, denying any French plans to deploy naval forces in the region.

Macron clarified in his statements that the discussion was about a security mission coordinated with Iran, not about a military move or combat naval deployment in the strait, according to Sputnik news agency.

Earlier today, Iranian Deputy Parliament Speaker Ali Nikzad confirmed that “the Strait of Hormuz will not be opened through any military operation,” stressing that “the era of dictating to Iran has ended irreversibly.”
