Following Friday prayers, the capital Sana’a witnessed massive popular demonstrations in all neighborhoods and districts under the slogan “In Anger for the Quran and Holy Sites and in Support of Gaza and Palestine.”
Participants in the demonstrations raised copies of the Holy Quran, chanting slogans of anger, condemnation, and rejection of the repeated insults against the Holy Quran, the holiest of holy sites on earth, by the enemies of God, the Americans and the Zionists.
They condemned in the strongest terms the act of the American criminal, Jake Lang, who burned a copy of the Holy Quran in the state of Michigan, USA, affirming that this heinous crime reflects the level of depravity and blatant hostility towards Islam, Muslims, and their holy sites.
The residents of the capital city declared their mobilization in defense of the Holy Quran, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Islamic holy sites. They considered this criminal act an act of aggression against Islamic sanctities, a deliberate provocation of the feelings of all Muslims worldwide, and an incitement to hatred and violence.
They warned of the serious repercussions of the repeated Zionist and American insults to the Holy Quran, which constitute a blatant violation of all international and humanitarian values, conventions, and laws.
The participants called upon Muslim nations to mobilize and hold marches to express their anger and stand firmly against the repeated insults to the Holy Quran, and to confront all those who transgress against Islam and its sacred sites.
A statement issued by the demonstrators explained that the Yemeni people are following with overwhelming anger and deep resentment the heinous insult perpetrated by the criminal Americans and Zionists against the most sacred of sanctities, the Holy Quran, reflecting the extent of their intense enmity and profound hatred towards it.
The statement affirmed that these repeated and deliberate insults also reflect the enemies’ intense and persistent fear of the Holy Quran, which has exposed their true nature and revealed their schemes and methods. They fight it because it is the divine path capable of building a unified, strong, and civilized nation that can confront them and eliminate all their diabolical projects.
It pointed out that the Yemeni people, by the grace of God, through their Quranic project, their divinely guided leader, and their historical stances, have provided witness and proof of this in confronting the Zionist and American enemy.
The statement condemned and denounced the repeated insults against the Holy Quran by the enemies of God—the Americans and the Zionists—as well as the almost daily desecration of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by the criminal Zionists.
It called upon all the peoples of the Arab and Islamic world to launch widespread campaigns to boycott American and Israeli goods and to hold million-person marches in every capital and city of the Arab and Islamic world.
The statement affirmed the steadfast Quranic, religious, and moral position of supporting and standing with our brothers in Gaza and working towards the liberation of the blessed land of Palestine.
It added, “We commend and support the strong and painful stances of our brothers in Hezbollah against the temporary entity, and the right of the Islamic Republic of Iran to respond to all unjust and illegitimate attacks by the tyrants of the earth, America and Israel.”
It congratulated everyone on the great success of the summer activities and courses, calling for support and active participation in the closing and honoring ceremonies for the students.
The statement also called for active participation in the Eid convoy supporting the brave men on the fronts of honor, dignity, and holy jihad.
