The UN Human Rights Office on Wednesday called on “Israel” to immediately and unconditionally release two members of the Global Sumud Flotilla, Seif Abu Keshk and Thiago de Avila, detained in international waters and held without charges.

UN spokesperson Thameen Al-Kheetan said solidarity and delivering aid to Gaza is not a crime, adding that reports of mistreatment must be investigated and those responsible held accountable.

He also urged an end to arbitrary detention and called for lifting the Gaza blockade to allow sufficient humanitarian aid into the territory, where ceasefire violations continue.
