Hamas condemns killing of 7-month-old infant by Israeli enemy forces in al-Khalil

The Hamas Movement has strongly denounced the killing of seven-month-old infant Sam Fahd Abu Haikal and the injury of his parents after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire directly at them south of al-Khalil City in the southern West Bank.

In a statement on Saturday, Hamas asserted that the gunfire attack that targeted the Abu Haikal family reflects that “the Israeli occupation regime persists in the policy of indiscriminately shedding Palestinian blood and deliberately targeting children, women, and the elderly.”

Hamas mourned the infant, considering his martyrdom a “testimony to the Israeli violations and crimes Palestinians are subjected to.”

It wished his parents a speedy recovery and commended their refusal to leave their home despite Israeli financial inducements offered to them, stressing that the martyrs’ blood would not go in vain.

Israeli troops killed the seven-month-old baby in the West Bank city of al-Khalil and injured his parents after opening fire directly at the family’s car, despite it having complied with an order to stop.

According to media sources, the shooting attack on the car happened in the Tel Rumeida area of al-Khalil on Friday evening. The infant was injured, evacuated in critical condition to the hospital, where he later died. His parents were also injured.
