Protest by medical referral patients in southern Gaza

Medical referral patients and their families held a protest on Wednesday at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, demanding urgent permission to travel abroad for treatment amid worsening health conditions and the ongoing blockade.

A cancer patient said she has held a medical referral for three years without being able to leave for treatment, with her condition steadily deteriorating due to delays in care.

Parents of sick children called for immediate international intervention to open safe passages for patients or provide adequate treatment inside Gaza.

Protesters warned that continued delays are endangering lives, as over 19,000 patients remain on referral lists, including thousands of children and cancer patients in urgent need of care outside the Strip.
