UN: Gaza civilians & infrastructure remain at risk from “Israeli” strikes

08 December 2025. Khan Yunis, Gaza Strip. Farmer Mohamed Othman Youssef al-Agha checks on the spinach plants in his field. al-Agha started, on 01 December 2025, planting spinach in about 2000 sq. m. of his land. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has supported 200 farmers in Rafah and Khan Younis areas of Gaza with USD 2500 in conditional cash assistance to plant and cultivate critically needed crops with funding from the oPt Humanitarian Fund (oPt HF). The farmer hopes that he will be able to meet his family’s needs in terms of food and education. He also plans to cultivate the remaining part of his land in the coming season.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said civilians and civilian infrastructure in Gaza continue to face airstrikes, shelling, gunfire, with reports of injuries and damage across the territory.

It reported minor damage to a humanitarian building in Deir al-Balah after a nearby strike, stressing that international humanitarian law requires protection of civilians and civilian facilities.

OCHA also noted ongoing humanitarian operations in the West Bank despite constraints, while access to water and sanitation is being increasingly restricted due to violence, demolitions, and movement limits.

It added that since the start of the year, over 100 incidents have damaged more than 190 water and sanitation facilities, and called for stronger protection of Palestinians and essential services.
