Deputy Executive Director of the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled Othman al-Selwi on Monday confirmed that the Saudi-American aggression has caused 80,000 disabilities, with children comprising more than half of them, totaling 40,000 disabled children.
In a statement to Al-Masirah TV, al-Selwi explained that the Saudi blockade has exacerbated the suffering of the disabled due to the lack of access to treatment and the deteriorating health situation in the governorates.
He pointed out that people with disabilities have been harmed as a result of the direct targeting of safe areas, markets, schools, and neighborhoods.
He added, “The effects and repercussions of the aggression and blockade continue to this day as a result of the Saudi-American aggression coalition’s use of internationally prohibited cluster bombs.”
The Deputy Executive Director of the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled confirmed that people with disabilities are facing a slow death, with some dying before they could travel abroad for treatment.
He added, “We support the call of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, to lift the siege and end the aggression, given the dire circumstances faced by people with disabilities.”
