Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has strongly condemned the British government’s decision to place the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on its list of proscribed organisations.
In a statement, the ministry described the move as a clear Zionist-driven step targeting resistance forces in the region.
The statement said the IRGC represents an effective and influential Islamic force in confronting Zionist projects, adding that Western powers seek to weaken Arab and Islamic countries and turn them into instruments for implementing their agendas in the region.
The ministry praised the IRGC’s role in defending the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran and thwarting what it described as conspiracies by Iran’s enemies and the wider Islamic nation.
It also reaffirmed that Yemen’s support for the Islamic Republic of Iran and its right to defend itself and respond to the US aggression and unjust blockade.
