A grand official and popular reception was held on Tuesday evening at Najaf International Airport in Iraq for the body of martyr Imam Ali Khamenei and the bodies of martyrs from his family.
According to Fars News Agency, the reception was attended by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, senior Iraqi , foreign political , diplomatic figures, tribal leaders, and large crowds of citizens.
Large numbers of Iraqis gathered at Najaf Airport to receive the body of martyr Imam Ali Khamenei.
The plane carrying the bodies arrived at Najaf Airport earlier on Tuesday evening. The funeral procession is scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday from Kufa toward Najaf, with further ceremonies to be held at 4:00 p.m. (Iraq time) in the holy city of Karbala at the shrines of Imam Hussein and Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas.
