The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced early Monday morning that two oil tankers exploded while attempting to cross the “unsafe passage” south of the Strait of Hormuz, blaming the US military for what it described as forcing them to use this route.
In a statement carried by the Fars News Agency, the Revolutionary Guard said the two explosions occurred late Sunday night on two oil tankers attempting to enter and exit the unsafe and dangerous passage south of the Strait of Hormuz, after being encouraged and coerced by the “child-killing” US military, which led to the tankers being forced to stop sailing.
The statement added that the US military presence in the region “has no legal basis,” emphasizing that Iranian forces “will deal with it decisively.”
The Revolutionary Guard warned that the continuation of “America’s evils” in the region will render this passage unsafe for ships, stating: “This passage will not be safe for the passage of chemical fertilizers or even a single drop of oil and gas.”
The statement concluded by asserting that “the army that was attacked should expect punitive operations” in response to the “illegal violation”.
