A source in the National Delegation affirmed that the announcement by some parties of opening flights to Sana’a is welcomed as part of an agreement with the competent authorities in Sana’a, without restrictions or conditions, and in a manner that ends the guardianship over Yemen.
The source explained in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the demand of the Yemeni people is to open the airport to all destinations without exception, as part of an agreement that ends guardianship over Yemen. He noted that these attempts aim to circumvent the demands of the Yemeni people through formal steps that could be halted at any turn under any pretext, and used for blackmail and bargaining at the mere request of the Saudi regime.
He said: “We are completely tired of this approach. We demand an agreement that opens the airport without any restrictions or conditions. After that, anyone who wishes to operate flights to Sana’a is welcome, in coordination with the competent authorities in Sana’a.”
The source stressed that the matter is no longer confined to the airport file alone, but extends to all humanitarian files, foremost among them the payment of salaries to Yemeni employees and other humanitarian issues.
