Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi affirmed that his country’s commitment to peace and stability in the region is achieved through “established and continuous diplomacy with neighbors,” pointing out that his recent discussions with guests from Pakistan and the Sultanate of Oman focused on regional solutions to shared issues.
He said in a post on the “X” platform today, Tuesday, monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the proposed framework discussed during the meetings includes three main axes: “establishing a new corridor, joint demining operations, and a mechanism for the future management of the Strait of Hormuz.”
The Iranian minister considered these proposals a “clear example” of Iran’s approach based on regional cooperation rather than reliance on external parties.
Tehran has repeatedly called for the formation of a “regional Gulf security alliance” managed by regional states without external interference, considering that the security of waterways is a shared responsibility of the littoral states.
