Head of Yemen’s National Delegation Mohammed Abdulsalam said Tuesday that the delegation continues contact with regional and international parties to convey Yemen’s position on the latest developments amid ongoing aggression against the Yemeni people.
Abdulsalam said Yemeni Armed Forces operations targeting Saudi enemy ships, military mobilizations and camps inside Yemen constitute a legitimate response to continuing attacks, particularly the attack on Sana’a Airport on July 13, 2026.
He said Sana’a had maintained the truce and de-escalation for four years without carrying out hostile actions against Saudi Arabia, affirming that Riyadh is exploiting the truce to pursue deliberate economic and livelihood-related escalation aimed at exhausting the Yemeni people.
Abdulsalam confirmed that Saudi Arabia is tightening the blockade through arbitrary inspections of ships heading to Hodeidah Port, delaying them for months, and targeting banks, money exchangers and traders through decisions issued in the name of officials residing in Saudi hotels.
He said the measures had deepened the humanitarian crisis, increased costs and contributed to sharp rises in commodity prices.
He stressed that Sana’a has never closed the door to dialogue and negotiations, stressing that Saudi Arabia is the side refusing negotiations despite its public statements claiming support for peaceful solutions.
Abdulsalam pointed out that Riyadh is using the delay to complete military preparations and plots aimed at plunging Yemen into endless chaos and wars, while affirming that the Yemeni Armed Forces would continue defending Yemen’s sovereignty, independence and dignity.
He concluded that any future political track must deliver the Yemeni people’s legitimate rights, particularly reopening airports and ports, paying salaries, resuming oil and gas exports, and directing their revenues toward public services, in accordance with the roadmap.
