Iranian authorities have executed Hossein Badran after he was convicted of spying for the Zionist Mossad agency and providing it with sensitive, classified information regarding military sites and missile facilities in Isfahan province.
The Iranian news agency Tasnim reported on Saturday that the execution followed the Supreme Court’s ratification of the death sentence and the rejection of the convict’s appeal.
According to the agency, Badran established a relationship with Mossad for financial gain, supplying the agency with information about military sites, personnel, and missile launch points.
During a search of his home, security services discovered a notebook containing missile-related information classified as “top secret,” as well as encrypted storage devices and covert photography equipment.
Investigations indicated according to the authorities—that the information Badran transmitted could have been used to target various military sites and might have contributed to the injury or death of personnel stationed there during the 12-day conflict.
Authorities stated that Badran had severed contact with Mossad prior to the start of the Zionist aggression; however, upon the outbreak of the attack, he attempted to re-establish contact with the agency via the Telegram app before security services managed to arrest him.
Following the completion of judicial proceedings, the rejection of the appeal, and the Supreme Court’s upholding of the death sentence, the execution was carried out.
