The Yemeni negotiating delegation met on Monday with the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, in the Omani capital, Muscat.
According to an informed source quoted by the official Yemeni News Agency “Saba”, the meeting addressed Yemen’s position regarding the military operations led by Saudi Arabia, the ongoing blockade, and the continued mobilization, arming, bombardment, and destruction.
The source stated that Saudi Arabia initiated the escalation by bombing Sanaa International Airport on June 13.
The source added that it was clarified during the meeting that Saudi Arabia has refused to lift the blockade on Yemeni airports and seaports, remove economic and humanitarian restrictions, and resume the payment of civil service salaries—demands put forward by the Yemeni people before the United Nations and all concerned parties seeking to understand the background of the current escalation.
The source stressed that the Saudi side bears full responsibility for obstructing and rejecting humanitarian solutions.
Furthermore, the source highlighted that peace remains the primary demand of the Yemeni people, emphasizing that the path to a political solution remains open through addressing these fundamental humanitarian needs.
