The Commission affirmed, in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the Saudi enemy mercenaries deliberately targeted a civilian gathering, resulting in the martyrdom of an elderly man and his daughter, and the injury of his wife.
It stressed that targeting homes and killing the elderly, women, and children constitutes a fully-fledged war crime under international humanitarian law, the four Geneva Conventions, and Additional Protocol II.
The Commission clarified that this crime falls within the category of war crimes due to its deliberate targeting of protected civilians and civilian objects, noting that legal and criminal responsibility falls directly on the Saudi enemy.
The National Human Rights Commission called on all those misled into the ranks of Saudi enemy mobilizations to immediately return to the embrace of the homeland and break free from their subservience to this enemy, which seeks to tear apart the social fabric and undermine national unity.
It affirmed that the homeland embraces all, and that history does not forgive those whose hands are stained with the blood of their people. It renewed its call for the misled to stand with the leadership and the Armed Forces to break the siege and end the suffering of the Yemeni people.
It pointed out that the blood of the elderly martyr and his daughter will not be in vain, and will remain a curse upon everyone who participated in, justified, or remained silent about this crime.
