Transport Ministry: 98 Percent of international ships continue to pass through Bab Al-Mandab

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works affirmed that international maritime traffic through the Bab Al-Mandab Strait is proceeding freely, safely, and smoothly, except for Saudi vessels subject to the ban.

In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the ministry said 73 international vessels, including container ships, commercial vessels, and others, passed through the strait over the past 48 hours.

It said 36 vessels crossed on September 10 and 37 on September 11, representing 98.6 percent of the average daily traffic recorded before the ban was imposed.

The ministry said the actual figures refute claims that international navigation through Bab Al-Mandab is at risk.
