The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Monday the downing of an armed reconnaissance drone belonging to the Saudi enemy—a “Wing Loong 2” model—while it was conducting hostile missions over Al-Bayda province.
According to the Armed Forces spokesman, the downing came during Yemeni air defenses’ engagement with hostile activities in the province’s airspace. The drone was reportedly carrying out offensive tasks before being intercepted and shot down.
The aircraft downed over Al-Bayda today is the third drone that Yemeni forces have successfully shot down within a period of less than 24 hours—a development that underscores the continued air confrontation and the growing capability of Yemeni air defenses to counter enemy aircraft.
The downing of the drone is part of an ongoing series of operations announced by the Yemeni Armed Forces against enemy aircraft, coinciding with repeated affirmations of their commitment to developing defensive capabilities and enhancing surveillance and engagement systems against aircraft conducting military missions in Yemeni airspace.
