Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held the United States responsible for any violation of the commitments outlined in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between Tehran and Washington.
During a phone call with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday evening, details of which were published by the Iranian minister on his Telegram channel and reviewed by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Araghchi emphasized the United States’ commitment and responsibility to ending the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon.
He stressed that any violation of the commitments stipulated in this Memorandum of Understanding would be directed at the United States, warning of the consequences of such an action.
The Iranian Foreign Minister praised the efforts and initiatives undertaken by the Pakistani side in the diplomatic negotiations that led to the Memorandum of Understanding.
For his part, the Pakistani Foreign Minister welcomed the ongoing diplomatic process, affirming his country’s support for the continuation of negotiations and efforts to achieve positive and sustainable results.
Isaac Dar expressed his hope for the success of the next stages of the diplomatic process.
During the telephone conversation, both sides, while reviewing and following up on several bilateral issues, affirmed their commitment to continuing consultations.
