Sayyid Abdul-Malik al-Houthi has called on the Saudi-led coalition countries to take advantage of the initiative put forward by President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat to stop their aggression, bombardment and siege in exchange for stopping strikes of the army and the popular committees against the Saudi territories by drones and ballistic missiles.

In a statement issued on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the September 21 Revolution, Sayyid al-Houthi stressed that “the most painful, deadliest and greatest impact strikes will reach deep into their areas and to their most important economic, oil and vital facilities if they reject the initiative.”

In this context, the Leader of the Revolution affirmed that “there are no red lines in this battle,” advising citizens in those areas, whether in Saudi Arabia or the UAE, to take caution and stay away from those facilities that have become targets for the army attacks.

Sayyid Abdul-Malik al-Houthi reaffirmed that “the Yemeni decision is independent and that there are no small or large powers that can set lines for it here, and that Yemen relies in its war and its legendary steadfastness only on the Yemeni people who fought fiercely for their country’s freedom, dignity, independent decision and sovereignty.”

The statement assured the world that the Yemeni peace initiative is a real opportunity for the coalition countries, and the world public opinion should deal seriously with the initiative.

There has been no official response from Saudi Arabia or the UAE on the initiative so far, but they are reportedly studying it carefully and seriously, as pointed out by British news agency BBC.

President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat announced on Friday evening an initiative to stop launching ballistic missiles and drone attacks on Saudi territories provided that the Kingdom stops bombing and targeting Yemeni cities.

The initiative was welcomed by UN Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths, and it enjoys political and popular support from the Yemeni public opinion.
